For this mobile system, users were required to set up and take down complicated equipment in 20 minutes. In the field, it was taking them an average of 50 minutes. Taking a simple commercial electrician's labeling system that I had used as a kid, I applied it to this challenge. Upon applying it to this mess of cables, the users could now mobilize within 15 minutes. The program's success led to the cable labeling system becoming our company standard for cable and equipment encoding.
