At the time, we needed to increase our product market share. Although we packed market-leading technology, our buttons and packaging had not been updated for over 10 years. I was asked to create best-in-class usability and styling features that would enable our sales teams to more easily sell the radio and capture more market share. Taking the existing package, I worked with our engineering staff on the button click feel, the button pads, display quality, and UI along with the in-vehicle usability. The result was a highly accepted and adopted radio interface, buttonology, and easier cable connectivity based on user input, human factors and rugged styling. I was awarded a Silver Eagle award. Sales teams proudly stepped up sales numbers after production.
